65 GETs inducted last year, 200 GETs inducted this year to meet expansion requirement

Udaipur : Hindustan Zinc is expanding all its mines to meet metal production capacity of 1.2 million tonnes from the current capacity of 1.0 million tonne. Recently the company has also entered into the solar energy with proposed installation of 115 MW of solar plants for captive use, out of which 15 MW has already been installed at Dariba Smelting Complex of the company.

To meet the growing requirement of manpower, for the first time Hindustan Zinc conducted one year induction program for the 65 Graduate Engineers Trainees (GETs) giving them rigorous training in every field of Hindustan Zinc operations. Taking forward 200 more GETs have joined Hindustan Zinc recently and they too would also undergo induction training program.

Petrol and diesel prices were reduced on Wednesday, effective from 6 am June 16, marking a decrease in fuel prices after a hike two weeks back. Petrol price was decreased by Rs. 1.12 per litre and diesel price was decreased by Rs.1.24 per litre, tracking global crude oil prices in the trailing fortnight.

Petrol in Delhi will cost Rs. 65.48 per litre from tomorrow as against Rs. 66.91 a litre currently. Similarly, a litre of diesel will be priced at Rs. 54.49, as compared to Rs. 55.94 at present, according to the nation’s largest fuel retailer, Indian Oil Corp (IOC).

“The current level of international product prices of Petrol & Diesel and INR-USD exchange rate warrant decrease in selling price of Petrol and Diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers with this price revision,” IOC said.

The decrease in price, comes on the back of am Rs 1.23 per litre hike in petrol price and Rs. 0.89 a litre hike in diesel prices effected on May 16.

Petrol, diesel prices are set to be revised daily starting June 16. Oil companies and retailers will change fuel rates across the country every day depending on the fluctuations in international oil prices to petrol pump owners and end customers.

New Delhi: State-run telecom firm BSNL today increased per day data offering to 4GB at 3G speeds under a new prepaid mobile scheme priced at Rs. 444 with 90 days validity.

“Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced ‘BSNL Chaukka – 444’, a new STV, for truly unlimited data for 90 days as special promotional offer under prepaid mobile services,” the company said in a statement.

This is the highest per day data limit being offered by any telecom operator in the country.

Under the scheme, one gigabyte of 3G mobile data will cost less than a rupee — the lowest in the sector.

“We are committed to provide affordable and efficient services to all segment of our mobile customers. We offer best prices to our customers considering present trend of Indian telecom industry,” BSNL Director for consumer mobility RK Mittal said.

BSNL’s competitors in the market are offering up to 2GB of mobile broadband per day.

“The benefits customer will get under the new STV-444 ‘BSNL Chaukka’ of Rs. 444 truly unlimited data with 4 GB data/day with validity of 90 days,” BSNL said.

The new offer follows BSNL’s unlimited data offer ‘Triple ACE’ special tariff voucher of Rs. 333 in which it offered customers 3 GB data per day.

Starting June 28, consumer users of Google’s G Suite cloud-based productivity apps will have a new option for backing up files and photos from their PCs and laptops: Backup and Sync.

Announced yesterday, the new backup tool is designed to replace Google Drive for Mac/PC. However, Backup and Sync won’t roll out automatically to business users with paid G Suite services such as Basic, Business, and Enterprise.

Instead, enterprise users will eventually have a separate, business-focused backup option: Drive File Stream. Currently available through an early adopter program, Drive File Stream is expected to launch later this year, according to Google.

Anywhere, Anytime Backup Access

Designed to ensure users have anywhere, anytime backup access to their computer files and photos, Backup and Sync will be rolled out over a period of a few days later this month, Google said yesterday in a blog post. Consumer users who currently rely on the desktop sync client Google Drive for Mac/PC will be able to download Backup and Sync to update their backup capabilities.

Currently, Google Drive for Mac/PC works by creating a desktop folder for syncing local files to the cloud. When users move a file to the Google Drive folder, that file is also automatically made available online, and any changes made to the desktop file will be reflected in the cloud-based version as well.

The Google Drive for Mac/PC client also integrates with Google’s Photos desktop uploader, providing the same cloud-based backup capabilities for images on local devices.

Google said enterprise users with paid G Suite services will be able to upgrade to Backup and Sync if their organizations currently allow them to install Drive for Mac/PC on their computers. MUMBAI: Twenty-four years after 12 blasts rocked the city killing 257 and leaving 713 grievously injured, a special Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act court on Friday convicted six out of the seven accused, including Abu Salem and Mustafa Dossa. In the dock is a second batch of accused, tried by special judge Govind A Sanap, after the main trial of 123 accused ended in 2006 with the conviction of 100.

The court has set the next hearing date on June 19 (Monday) to decide the date for argument on quantum of sentence.

Others who were convicted include Feroz Khan, Taher Merchant, Riyaz Siddiqui, Karimulla Khan. The court pronounced the sentence after hearing arguments from the defence and the prosecution. All the six convicts face the gallows.

Abdul Qayyum Shaikh who has been acquitted by the court had allegedly sent arms and ammunition from abroad which landed at Dighi Jerry. He also had allegedly sold a licensed revolver to Sanjay Dutt in September 1992.

Special CBI counsel Deepak Salvi said trial for the seven, arrested between 2003 and 2010, had to be separated as they were nabbed after a substantial portion of the previous trial was completed.

With no other accused currently in custody, the Friday verdict was the last in the case for now. Thirty-three accused are absconding, including key conspirators Dawood Ibrahim, his brother Anees Ibrahim, Mustafa’s brother Mohammed Dossa and Tiger Memon.

He elaborates, “I follow this ritual of checking into a hotel in the city once every year to unwind. During one such stay, I’d come out of the bathroom in a towel and instead of getting dressed first, I decided to place the dirty dishes outside the room. But the moment I stepped out, the door closed behind me and I was locked out of my room. The only solution was to go down to the reception and get a new key.

So, down I went, clothed in just a towel. Unfortunately for me, there was a big wedding happening at the hotel. The guests recognised me and I was dragged to the venue. Even before I could understand what was happening, I found myself sitting between the bride and the groom, clad in nothing but a towel.”

NEW DELHI: The government on Friday announced its decision making the Aadhaar card mandatory for opening bank accounts and conducting financial transactions of Rs 50,000 and above.

Moreover, existing bank account holders have been asked to submit their Aadhaar cards issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to banks by December 31 this year, failing which banks will invalidate their accounts.

The move comes days after the Supreme Court upheld the validity of an I-T Act provision making Aadhaar a must for allotment of PAN cards and for filing Income Tax returns.

The apex court had granted a “partial relief” to those who do not have an Aadhaar or an Aadhaar enrolment ID, ruling that the PAN of such individuals will not be cancelled for the time being.

The notification issued amending the Prevention of Money Laundering (Maintenance of Records) Rules, 2005, mandated quoting of Aadhaar along with PAN or Form 60 by individuals, companies and partnership firms for all financial transactions of Rs 50,000 or above with effect from June 1.

This is all a trap as Nikhil had asked Tanu to call Alia and ask her to return home.

Meanwhile, Pragya (Sriti Jha) takes a shower and asks Abhi (Shabbir Ahluwalia) to freshen up. She helps him take his clothes off and then Pragya gives Abhi a sponge bath. The two lead actors then share a romantic moment.

Pragay then starts throwing water at Abhi, just then Raghuveer enters the room with new clothes for Abhi. Pragya says that she would clean up the mess she made, but the elderly man asks her to relax as the floor would dry up itself.

Udaipur : Tension prevailed for hours in Pratapgarh city after a union leader died reportedly after being manhandled by a team of sanitation workers of the municipal council when the victim tried to dissuade them from clicking pictures of some women who had gone to relieve themselves in the open. Tension build up when the man died in the hospital during treatment followed by women staging dharna and locals creating a jam like situation on the main market. Seeing the public rage, police has detained all the 7 persons of the SBM team who were involved in the tiff.

 “ We have taken the complaint and if the autopsy report states physical injuries to be the cause of death, a case will be chargedunder the relevant sections of the IPC” an officer said.

The incident took place in the early morning near the Kachhi Basti in the center of the city where a group of women had gone to answer nature’s call. Meanwhile,  a team of sanitation workers who were on duty to create awareness among public against open defecation under the Swachh Bharat mission program, saw these women and tried to dissuade them. There was a verbal spat between them, meanwhile,  Zafar Khan a communist party worker and union leader intervened. Khan told the team members that the women had no other option as there were no toilets in their homes and that the community toilet too was not functional due to non-maintenance.

The heated conversation turned sour with both parties getting physical, causing injury to the victim. Khan was taken to the hospital where he died in the afternoon during treatment. Residents of the kachhi basti gathered in large number and staged protest. Khan’s family members demanded an FIR to be taken against the Municipal Corporation team members and the commissioner himself who was also present at the time of the scuffle, they held. Seeing communal tension brewing up, a larger force was deployed outside the hospital as well as main streets to prevent any untoward incident.  Authorities tried to pacify the people who raised slogans and staged a dharna.

The post mortem was conducted by a medical board later afternoon. Meanwhile, community members demanded government job for Khan’s kin and an ex-gratia of one crore rupees, sources claimed.

A fire broke out in the three storeyed Nateshwar Bhawan in Mumbai’s Khar Danda road on Friday (June 16), which has a dance institute run by renowned dancer Terence Lewis. Lewis’ dance academy was also caught in the fire but thankfully everyone was evacuated on time.

The fire broke out due to a short circuit.Terence informed his worried fans that there was no casualty and that everyone was safe. He wrote on Twitter, “No casualty n all safe! Will emerge stronger ! Thank u for ur prayers n well wishes!”

Also hailing the fire brigade department for having reacted quickly, he wrote, “Super Heroes:Timely n efficient Fire Brigade doused the short circuit fire n minutes!Thank the neighbours n police who helped calm nerves!”

Pragya says that had they been here, she would have met them. Raghuveer says that his elder daughter is like Pragya. The old man then narrates incidents of his daughters to Pragya.

Abhi questions Raghuveer about his wife and the latter goes numb hearing him say this. He tells that her took a wrong decision in life, because of which his wife is not with him today. He then tells Pragya and Abhi to take all decisions wisely and never take any wrong decision.

Nikhil and his men follow Abhi and Pragya’s footsteps and reach at a small colony where they lose track of their footsteps. The serial killer starts thinking of ways to catch the couple and says that he will catch them with the help of their blood’s smell. He then gives all his men directions and tells them to search each house properly.

Meanwhile, Pragya cooks food for Abhi and Raghuveer. When Raghuveer comes to talk to her, she makes him taste all the dishes and he is impressed with her cooking skills. Pragya is then lost in thoughts, thinking about the times when she spent nice and warm moments with Abhi.
